Since writing about my concussion in fall 2010 the post has been read the most, month after month. Each month I notice that hundreds of people have made it to this blog (and viewed the post) after searching for:
concussion thirst
how much fluid to drink after a concussion
concussion sinus pressure
sinus headache concussion
can you watch tv with a concussion
And many more phrases like these. If your concussion is as bad as mine was, long-term effects from post-concussive syndrome resulted with:
gaining ~5-10 lbs (since you're not as active for months on end)
refraining from drinking (alcohol) or not drinking as much
having a new appreciation for your health
It took me about a full year until I felt completely normal again. I've tried yoga and acupuncture since and have kept up with both practices regularly, which is probably why I've been calmer and happier than before the concussion happened.
If you have a specific question about a concussion that you haven't found the answer to anywhere, please leave me a comment and I'll let you know my take on it. I know concussion information is hard to find, so hang in there if you think you have one and go see a doctor!
